Get the Slack App settings

1. Go to Your Apps in Slack

2. Click Create New App button

3. Choose From scratch

4. Enter an app name, and pick a workspace. Then click Create App button
5. Once the application is created, you will be taken to the Basic Information page

Add permissions for Slack App

After creating the Slack application, you need to add relevant permissions to the created application.

1. Choose OAuth&Permissons from left side, Click Add an OAuth Scope under Bot Token Scopes field
2. Add the following permissions:
  • app_mentions:read
  • channels:history
  • channels:read
  • chat:write
  • commands
  • groups:history
  • im:history
  • mpim:history
  • users:read
 
3. Scroll up to the OAuth Tokens area and click Install Workspace.
4. After success, you will see the Bot User OAuth Token in OAuth Token field.

Add a platform in Tate-A-Tate

Go to Tate-A-Tate

1. Select an agent
2. Choose Publish tab
3. Click Add platform button
4. Enter a channel name
5. Choose Channel type Slack
6. Click Create button
7. Enter the copied Client ID、Client Secret、Signing Secret、Bot User OAuth Token from Slack app and click Submit button

Tip: It may take a while to connect. The page will refresh after the link is done, so you don’t have to stay on the page.

8. Click the Publish all button on the right to finish connection with Slack app.

9. When the publish is completed, click See configure button to obtain callback URLs. Then copy and save OAuth2 Redirect URLs, Event Request URL and Interactivity Request URL

Please note: The callback URLs will only take effect after clicking the “Publish” button. The agent will be unable to chat in Slack until the below URLs are entered.

Configure the Slack App

After obtaining the OAuth2 Redirect URLs, Event Request URL and Interactivity Request URL, you need to configure the Slack application.

1. Add OAuth2 Redirect URLs
2. Add Event Request URL

Configure the Bot events to subscribe to for the Slack app. Slack will send subscribed event activities to the Bot through the specified request URL.

3. Add Bot User Event

Expand the Subscribe to bot events configuration panel and click Add Bot User Event to add the events: app_mention and message.im.

4. Add Interactivity Request URL

Finish connect in Tate-A-Tate

Go back to Tate-A-Tate, Click Chat in Slack and choose your work space to chat
